A Power of Attorney is a legal document that is used to delegate legal authority from one person to another. The person who signs a Power of Attorney is called the Principal. The Power of Attorney gives legal authority to another person, who is often called Attorney-in-Fact or an Agent to make financial and other legal decisions for the Principal, with one exception - medical decisions.
